History is brought to life through re-enactors who talk to you
about the past of the person they are portraying at the
cemetery. It truly brings history to life.
The Crocker House Museum is dressed for an 1880s wake with
mourning artifacts on display. Director Kim Parr has been
teaching the history of mourning and funeral culture for over 12
years with Mourning Matters (www.mourningmatters.com). She
will be dressed in 1880's mourning attire and will discuss
Victorian mourning and funeral culture.
Clinton Grove Cemetery was established in 1855. Some
headstones pre-date 1855. While the cemetery was being
established some burials were moved from the Mt. Clemens
Village Cemetery and from family cemeteries.
Clinton Grove cemetery holds so much fascinating local history!
