Marshall is one of the most beautiful cities in Michigan. It's also a storehouse of 19th century
architecture that has given it status as a National Historic Landmark District. Established in
1830, the early settlers expected the community to become Michigan's state capitol. Thus it
drew dozens of doctors, lawyers, ministers, business people and land speculators. Your day will
include a tour of the 1860 Honolulu House that houses the Marshall Historical Society, the
G.A.R. Hall Civil War Museum that includes war related artifacts, the American Museum of Magic
which is located in an historic 130 year old structure, and the Governor's Mansion (where we will
enjoy tea & cookies) that was built in 1839 to entice Legislators to name Marshall as the capitol
of Michigan.
We will also enjoy lunch at the 102 year old Schuler's Restaurant. Luncheon choices include
salad and choice of harvest herb Chicken, Butter Crumb Cod or Tortellini Primavera with
beverage and Schuler's Bread Pudding.
Please reserve your seat and meal choice today as reservations are required, limited,
non-refundable and cost and cost $60 for members of the Macomb County Historical Society
and $65 for non-members.
